free health careUniversal health care… the American dream that seems to be more of a myth than any kind of eventual reality. It seems that more and more, domestic bi-partisan politics seem to focus on the economy and health care. As it is, even the cheapest form of health care can cost in excess of $700 / year, and that is simply speaking in terms of basic coverage.The argument for something like free health care is that it is the right of every man, woman and child to receive medical treatment when needed, and that the government should divert funds from programs such as those of military/defense spending or foreign policy related spending. The argument against free health care is that such funds cannot be diverted for the well being of the nation as a whole, and that aside from that, taxpayers wouldn't stand for the tax hike resulting from such a universal program. As it is, health care is something that simply must be budgeted into our accounts every month like many other undesirable payments. ..............................................................................................................................
